Invasive fauna and flora generate serious problems in the aquatic environment. These species are a serious threat to ecosystems and biodiversity, produce significant economic impacts and can be a major problem for human health.

The REVISA-LIMPIA-SECA campaign uses three key premises to minimize the spread of invasive alien species:

1. checking equipment to identify and remove attached structures or individuals,
2. cleaning to minimize the risk of transporting species to other locations
3. and drying to prevent their survival.
