Invasive Alien Species (IAS) are a serious threat to nature, the economy and human health in Europe. They are a very significant problem in all European Union (EU) states and their numbers have increased significantly in recent decades. In Spain and Portugal, where governments are increasing efforts to reduce the impact of IAS, raising awareness in society is essential to increase management effectiveness. In this context, LIFE INVASAQUA has generated knowledge transfer and increased social perception of the problem.
