This statement presents the position of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) on the EU Regulation on the prevention and management of the introduction and spread of invasive alien species (1143/2014) that entered into force in 2015.

Los medios de vida de 3.000 millones de mujeres y hombres dependen directamente de la naturaleza. El 80% de la alimentación humana tiene su base en las especies vegetales y animales. Sin ecosistemas saludables, no hay vidas saludables: el agua y el aire limpios son una consecuencia directa de una naturaleza en buen funcionamiento.
